Negotiation and Conflict Resolution
A good and sustainable business relationship requires both parties to be mutually satisfied. Continually.

A successful negotiation leading to a sustainable relationship requires both  parties to be happy with the outcome. However, as the parties go into a negotiation each wants to the get the maximum advantage over his counter-part. Tension and aggression is commonplace and imbalance quite often remains in the final agreement.

Facilitation eases the negotiation process and helps to achieve a win-win scenario by maintaining order, minimizing the effect of emotions and applying process. The facilitator acts as referee, without a vested interest in the outcome beyond that of it being satisfactory to both parties. The facilitator keeps the playing field level.

A conflict resolution situation, where tension exists from the outset, is essentially a negotiation starting from a hostile frame of mind. The desire to castigate the other party is a major objective of one or other of the parties. Facilitation (similar to arbitration)  can ease the way forward to achieve a satisfactory outcome for all in a more efficient manner and without further antagonism.
